Spain

I absolutely loved Spain, as expected.  Again, I think it’s a Europe thing… The pedestrian streets, the restaurants/cafes/bars everywhere, the food, the wine, the culture in general.  First, I had a big crush on San Sebastian.  I say crush because with only 2 days, I didn’t have time to pursue the relationship.  So I must go back.  Barcelona was fun, especially that we got to discover it with amazing friends, Mel, Carl and the kids. As a group, we then headed south, to Malaga.  The house and the temperature was perfect to relax and enjoy the city.  The great host making things even better.  It was a blessing to meet and get to spend precious time with the newest addition to the family, Loic.  He is the cutest!  Mila, now 3 years old, gave us the opportunity to venture our new country with the eyes of a toddler… And trust me, it makes everything funner. After the sad departure of our friends, we visited Marbella that provided us with the best restaurant we visited in Spain and our best nightlife experience.  To make things even more interesting, we then drove ourselves into another country, the city of Gibraltar, belonging to England.  It was weird to go thru border control and change currency for this small piece of earth, mainly composed of a big rock!  The place was nice but didn’t impress me much.  The best part was the day trip we did to Morocco.  The adventure was great and we got to experience the local culture with the help of a very knowledgeable guide.  To end the Spain escapade, we made our way to Madrid by train.  This final city was a big hit for me.  I got to do everything I love about Europe and didn’t have a moment to spare. From tennis, to football, to amusement parc, to restaurants, to museums and spa, we packed our last week of this trip and it was very satisfying to end on this good note.
